    Founded in 1885 as the Gray's School of Science and Art, it was named after its benefactor local businessman and philanthropist John Gray (1811-1891). In the 1950’s and 1960’s the school acquired other buildings and the art school was housed in a purpose built construction located on the Garthdee Estate. The curriculum encompasses the Fine Arts, textile printing, photography, ceramics and jewellery.
