This should be replaced with simplecov for Ruby 1.9+ ( Another issue which is open : #189) .I think jeweler should stop supporting Ruby 1.8 and I'll make sure rcov is gone when we take this up. As a workaround, replace rcov with simplecov in the Gemfile of the gem that you just created.
